Why it is Important to Write from the Heart

Although the world of blogging has changed a lot over the years, one thing remains the same. The quality of writing should be top-notch, and so should your strategies of engaging with the public. You see, there are many ways to attract people to your website. Social media marketing, search engine optimization and referred traffic from social bookmarking sites are only a few examples. While it is great to consider the SEO and social aspects, it is more important to create awesome content, and also connect with the reader. There is a reason why so many people create blogs, and why even more read them: people want to feel like they belong. Some people say that they only use the internet in order to stay informed, but this isn’t entirely true. Social media platforms have proven that the internet is about so much more than information. We want to feel close to something, and this is why we are constantly searching for like-minded people without even knowing it.

There is a saying „it’s the message not the medium that counts”. In other words, you can be a computer genius, and know everything about everything, but as long as you don’t know how to relay your message, people will probably chose another blog to subscribe to. The best way to connect with the reader, and win him over forever is to „emotionally link to him”, and write from the heart. People will know when you are regurgitating content, or simply posting for the sake of keeping your blog alive. But how exactly do you connect with your target audience? Here are four tips that will help you create better blog posts.

Write from the Heart

The whole point in having a blog is to express yourself. Although it is not great to make your blog all about yourself, it could be great for your readers to get the chance to know you better. You could share an experience, or talk about your childhood, anything that might give the audience a little insight on your personal life. If you don’t want to become too personal you can always add a personal twist in your regular articles, or refer to something that has happened to you in order to prove a point.

Learn from Experience

People are always looking for inspiring and motivational articles, something that will make them believe in yourself, and by sharing such stories you will definitely attract more readers. It doesn’t have to be something grand, nor do you have to be some sort of genius in order to create a motivational article. It could be something as small as learning how to sow or stuff like that.

Make Jokes at Your Own Expense

Humor is probably the best weapon a blogger has in his arsenal. Whether it is sarcastic humor, or simply rolling on the floor laughing type of humor, the goal is to have people smile while reading your pieces. Nobody likes sad and sulky, so make sure that your articles are optimistic, or that they have at least one good thing to remember. Like jesters make fun at their own expense, so should you make jokes that will make people understand a little bit more about your personality.

Engage with your Readers

Again, I wish to stress out the importance of creating a relationship with your readers. This relationship has no chance of growing as long as communication is one sided. It isn’t enough to simply relate your stories to the public, you also have to engage with them. If they comment on your work, make sure that you at least thank them, or show them some sign of recognition for their effort.

All in all, it is not difficult to reach out to the public, as long as you put yourself in the reader’s position. What internet users are looking for is a little emotion to color a dull day,
